An Overview of Ethical Wills
The most important gift you can give to your loved ones is the gift of
"Your Life".
Every generation of parents wants their children's lives to better than their own. Of even more value than money is the wisdom that
you may share so that your children's lives are more satisfying than your own. Our wisdom from our own life's experience, if appropriately passed on, may
contribute to many forms of wealth or save grief for our children.
You see even with the very wealthy, there are times that cause much frustration and
anguish that may be avoided if it is looked at in a different light. If the
person is receptive to the information being passed along, then much can come
from it. For instance, your child will be much more receptive to information
that is written well ahead of time in an ethical will rather than listen to what
may be perceived as "Preaching" about a particular situation.
Passing on enormous monetary wealth does not in itself offer any values which ensure personal happiness.
Passing on our wisdom of life itself however will ensure a better fulfillment of
life's true treasures. The fact of the matter is that children will reflect at some point in their lives about a lost parent and wonder how or what their mother or father would have thought about or done about a particular situation or circumstance in their life. If the words were written, a great deal of wisdom may be shared long after our passing that may help our loved ones.
What a gift you can give and one that can be passed down for generations to come.
Just as there is a seed from flowers, there is a seed of wisdom that blooms at a certain different times in
everyone's life. It is rarely found in the young, just as it is not found in the beginnings of flowers. The real beauty comes as the plant has
matured just as the beauty in people comes later in life. |
